Next, we’ll take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab responsible for fabricating your dental crown. While you wait for your new dental crown, we’ll place a temporary crown over your tooth to protect it in the meantime.
When you return for your second appointment, we’ll replace the temporary crown with the permanent one.
Composite Fillings
Our dentists in Grandville, MI, may recommend a composite filling to restore a tooth with a small cavity. Unlike silver amalgam fillings, match the color of your natural enamel. This means that you won’t be able to tell where your tooth ends and your filling starts.
It takes one appointment to get a dental filling. This is because a filling is a “direct restoration.” As the name suggests, this means that one of our dentists will apply the filling material directly to your tooth. They’ll fill the hole left behind after removing the decayed tooth structure, restoring the tooth’s full strength and natural appearance. No outside dental lab required!
