Our History
44 West Dental Professionals has served West Michigan since 1969. Back then, our original office was in downtown Grand Rapids. Dr. John Albrecht (our founder) started out with one assistant and one of the earliest practicing dental hygienists in the city.
In 1988, the practice and its growing staff moved to its current location in Grandville near I-196. During that time, fields surrounded the modest, but comfortable, office building. It didn’t take long for loyal patients to follow and the practice to thrive.
Dr. Jason Doublestein joined the staff in 2005, followed by Dr. Michael Weirenga when Dr. Albrecht retired. The two doctors became partners and merged their practice with their next-door neighbor, Dr. Michael Pierce. Together, they completely renovated and expanded their space. They also welcomed an associate, Dr. Katelyn Trierweiler.
The area around our dental practice has since changed. Today, we’re surrounded by restaurants and a busy mall, but the most important things have remained the same. We’re proud to continue a tradition of serving patients with compassion and professionalism.
Our renovated facility is a beautiful, modern office committed to classic values that never go out of style. Throughout all the growth and transitions, we at 44 West look forward to providing exceptional care for generations of patients in Grandville and its neighboring communities for many years to come.
